NUDGES Project Meeting: Progress, Plans, and Networking in Zagreb
In early November, the vibrant city of Zagreb hosted the NUDGES team for the 2nd Technical and Steering Committee Meeting. Held at the House of Europe on November 5th and 6th, the meeting brought together the project coordinator ANETEL as well as seven other project partners. This inspiring location—the headquarters of European Commission’s and European Parliament’s liaison offices in Croatia—set the tone for two productive days.
Day 1: Work Package Updates and Collaboration Highlights
The first day was dedicated to updating the team on the initial three work packages (WPs). Here’s a quick look at the highlights:
- WP1: Study of the Art and Directions for the Study
Led by PREDA, WP1 centers on building the project’s research foundation. Months of collaboration have resulted in significant progress, with all five outputs either completed or nearing finalization. The WP1 team’s efforts underscored the project’s solid start. - WP2: Feasibility Proofing and Pilot Actions
WP2, led by MUSOL, focuses on the interactive core of NUDGES—the pilot actions. Six partners presented their pilot projects, sharing innovative ideas and strategies to engage their communities. With preparations complete, these pilot actions are set to launch from winter into early spring, making them the hands-on segment of NUDGES. - WP3: Assessment and Stock-Taking
While WP3 activities are yet to begin, leader E-ZAVOD outlined the planned approach for assessing project outcomes. The work here will kick off soon, providing key insights to guide future steps.
The day wrapped up with a guided tour of Zagreb’s city center, giving participants a chance to experience the cultural charm of the host city.
Day 2: Administrative and Communication Insights
The second day shifted focus to the administrative, technical, and communication aspects of the project:
- WP4: Reporting and Monitoring
ANETEL covered important updates on reporting, financial monitoring, as well as the Dialogue for Green Living Area and Mission’s events. MUSOL presented the Carbon Footprint monitoring plan, while MZ shared progress on communication activities. The NUDGES communication officer reflected on her experience with the Communication Working Group of the Green Living Areas initiative, using also the opportunity to record interviews with NUDGES partners for future promotional content.
Alongside the core partners, the meeting welcomed a representative from an Associated Partner, RAM Central Stara Planina, further strengthening the collaborative network.
The two-day meeting reaffirmed the commitment of this consortium. United by a shared goal, the NUDGES team continues to push boundaries, fostering climate-friendly behavioral change and crafting innovative strategies for MED policy-makers committed to climate change mitigation.
