NUDGES: The Power of Images – Bulgarian Pilot Launch
As part of the NUDGES series of six pilot actions, we are excited to announce the launch of the Bulgarian pilot in Gabrovo! The Museum of Humour and Satire is issuing an open call for students to participate in a unique design competition on the theme “NUDGES: The Power of Images.” This pilot explores how the sense of sight can be used as a powerful tool to inspire climate action.
We invite creative students to design an original billboard – one of the most impactful ways to communicate messages in urban spaces. In this competition, your artwork will focus on raising awareness about climate change and encouraging positive change in your community.
How to Participate & What’s Included
To help spark your creativity, deepen your understanding of climate issues, and boost your chances of winning, all participants will benefit from three unique experiences during the weekend of June 14–15, 2025:
- Participate in the “Climate Fresco” game
- Take an organized visit to the Regional Non-Hazardous Waste Landfill in Gabrovo
- Join an on-site workshop at the Museum with experienced designers and ecology specialists
The competition is open to both secondary school and university students, with two categories. Accommodation, meals, and all activities are covered by the project hosts. Please note: if you are not from Gabrovo, you will need to arrange and cover your own transportation.
- Application deadline: May 20, 2025 – June 1, 2025 (apply here)
- Design submission deadline: June 16, 2025 – July 6, 2025 (send to projects@humorhouse.bg)
This initiative is proudly supported by the Regional Association of Municipalities “Central Stara Planina” as an Associated Organisation.
What is a Nudge?
A nudge is a “behavioral prompt”- a subtle change in the way choices are presented, encouraging actions that benefit society. Through this competition, we hope to see how visual nudges can positively impact citizens’ decision-making and foster a more sustainable future.
Stay tuned and get involved – let’s shape a greener tomorrow together!
