Organised as an Institutional Policy Dialogue for Energy, and initiated by the Dialogue for Living Areas project with the support of ANETEL as a project partner, the event brings together a diverse group of stakeholders – from Mediterranean institutions and local and regional authorities to research organisations and EU policy actors. The shared goal is clear: strengthening cooperation around the energy and climate transition. At a time when the Mediterranean region is facing increasing environmental, economic and geopolitical pressures, such exchanges are becoming more important than ever.
The event is inspired by the strong cooperation among programmes through the Mediterranean Multi-Programme Mechanism (MMM), a collaborative platform established in 2022 to bring together more than eight Interreg programmes across the Mediterranean. In this context, the Dialogue creates a valuable space to connect project results with evolving policy frameworks and future cooperation priorities.
The agenda reflects this complexity. Throughout the day, participants will explore governance and policy frameworks, financing mechanisms, and practical tools that help turn climate strategies into concrete actions. Sessions will also address innovation in sustainable urban systems, circular economy approaches, and the role of coastal and maritime areas in the transition. Importantly, the programme does not stop at solutions – it also opens space for dialogue on how these experiences can shape future cooperation across the Mediterranean.
For NUDGES, a key moment will be its contribution to Session 4: Climate Adaptation, Environmental Governance and Citizen Engagement. During this session, Francesco Filippi from MUSOL Foundation will present our project with the presentation “Behavioural Approaches for Climate-Resilient Mediterranean Societies”. The speaker’s participation is supported by ANETEL.
The presentation will focus on a perspective that is often overlooked in technical discussions – the human one. By exploring how behavioural insights and sensory experiences can influence everyday decisions, NUDGES offers a complementary approach to climate action, one that supports more sustainable choices in a practical and accessible way.
Beyond the individual sessions, the event also creates space for exchange – through discussions, networking, and an interactive session on the future of Mediterranean cooperation. It is precisely this combination of policy dialogue and project-level experience that gives the event its value.
NUDGES’ participation in this Dialogue is another step in sharing its results with a wider community and contributing to ongoing conversations on how to make the green transition more effective, inclusive, and grounded in real-life behaviour.
